Admission of new students to the German Language Education Program FPBS UPI follows the student admission system of UPI, which is coordinated and implemented by the university-level committee. All rules and procedures for admitting new students apply uniformly to every faculty.

SNBP (formerly known as SNMPTN) is an admission pathway to higher education institutions for high-achieving students who consistently demonstrate their excellence in senior high schools (SMA/SMK/MA).
Schools play a role in the SNBP selection process. Therefore, schools are obliged to complete and provide accurate information in the School and Student Database (PDSS), which contains the school's performance record and students' academic achievements. The PDSS serves as the primary source of data for SNBP. The management and processing of data for the SNBP selection process are carried out by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT). LTMPT is the sole standardized higher education testing institution in Indonesia.
SNBT (formerly known as SBMPTN) is a pathway for selecting prospective university students based on integrated ability tests/examinations.
Since 2019, this selection pathway has become the method for admitting new students, using only the results of the Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) or the results of UTBK along with other criteria jointly determined by the universities. Therefore, information about UTBK is an integral part of SNBT.
The current-year UTBK can be taken by high school graduates from up to two years prior to their secondary education (SMA/MA/SMK) and their equivalent, as well as graduates of Paket C. For example, the UTBK in the year 2024 can be taken by graduates from the years 2022, 2023, and 2024. UTBK is the main requirement for participating in SNBT.
Seleksi Mandiri UPI (SMUPI) is a selection pathway for admitting prospective UPI students, which facilitates the admission of many highly potential candidates who have not yet passed the SNMPTN and SBMPTN selections.
SM UPI is conducted using UTBK score data, a Psychology Test for the field of interest, and an Integrated Test.
In addition to using test-based admissions, UPI also accepts new UPI students through the Prestasi Istimewa (PI) pathway, aimed at recognizing students with outstanding achievements demonstrated through monumental works of art or technology that have received recognition from the community, as well as through academic and non-academic achievements in national and international competitions. Through the selection of new PI students, it is expected to enhance the excellence and achievements of UPI students at the national and international levels.
