ABOUT JERMAN UPI

The German Language Education Study Program is one of ten study programs owned by the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Since its establishment in 1957, the Study Program has always been committed to producing prospective teachers. Many teachers and lecturers in educational institutions spread across several cities in Indonesia have been currently produced by the Study Program.

Thanks to the quality of its service, the German Language Education Study Program FPBS UPI is currently accredited by BAN PT (The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education) with the predicate "A" based on the BAN PT Decree No. 1547 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / VIII / 2016, and certified ISO 9001: 2015 since 2017.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

The new student admission system for the German Language Education Study Program, FPBS UPI, refers to the UPI admissions system which is coordinated and implemented by the adhoc committee. This admission system applies equally to each faculty. Currently, there are four ways in which UPI's new student admission system works, namely:

  1. Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN), National Entrance Selection for State Universities;
  2. Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN), Joint Entrance Selection for State Universities ;
  3. Seleksi Mandiri UPI (SM UPI), an internal entrance selection held by UPI; and
  4. Prestasi Istimewa (PI), a special selection for students who have monumental achievements.

GRADUATE PROFILE

  • Prospective Teacher – Graduates who have the competence to educate, teach, guide, direct, train, assess, and evaluate, and develop German language education and learning.

  • Research Assisstant – Graduates who have the competence to assist in identifying educational problems, finding solutions through scientific procedures, and publishing and disseminating research results.

  • Practitioner – Graduates who apply their competence in the field of translation, tourism, or other fields of work.

VISION, MISSION, & GOALS

To become a leading study program at the national level and recognized at the international level in organizing German language teacher education programs and studies on German language and learning.

  1. Implementing a learning process with maximum service standards in order to prepare German language educators in both formal and non-formal education fields.
  2. Improving the quality of the implementation of the learning process by utilizing information and communication technology.
  3. Improving the quality of academic services through the development of human resources, both teaching and educational staff.
  4. Conducting quality research in the field of languages and the field of German language learning.
  5. Organizing community service that is relevant to the scientific field to help solve some of the problems in society.
  6. Disseminating intellectual works and research results through scientific forums and journals on a national and international scale.
  7. Establishing cooperative networks at the local, national and international levels in the field of German and language learning.
To develop human beings who have noble character, fear of God Almighty, are knowledgeable, professional, have love and integrity for the Republic of Indonesia.
